Root Cutting is Often the Fix for a Blocked Drain
Tree root ingress in drains can cause several problems for homeowners, including blockages, drain collapse, and joint displacement. All it takes is a crack or small gap in the joints of a drain for roots to get in. Tree roots have an affinity for drains because of the nutrients in sewage.

Tree roots are a major cause of blocked drains. If there is a connection in the underground drain that isn't properly sealed, tree roots will detect the fault and send in fibrous roots to feed on the nutrients and water. What may start as a 1mm gap in the seal of the drain could end up as 1" parting after a few years of the tree roots growing in there.
At Drain Ace we specialise in cutting roots from drains. We have the latest technology and equipment to do this job properly. We have a Spartan 300 drain auger with various cutting heads. - Dig out the damaged section of Drain and replace it with new.
- Re-line the damaged section of Drain from inside with resin-bonded patch lining. The latest technology in patch lining is often the go-to method for all drainage contractors these days.
- Cut down the offending tree or plant. Drain ace has removed many trees growing over manholes and out of Drains. This is often the cheapest option and is a satisfactory medium to long term solution.
